Heatley SS are proud to be the base for the NEW North Queensland Hearing, Language & Literacy Project led by senior speech- language pathologist Pam Leonardi.
The Project aims to provide free hearing screening and ear health checks to all students in Prep, year 1 and year 2. It is important to have an ear and hearing health check, because children with hearing loss are at more risk of speech, language and learning difficulties.
2024 screening will be conducted by Hearing Australia in week 6 of term 1 - all P-2 students were given permission forms - these should be returned by Friday 23 February.
