All students are taught the learning areas from the Australian Curriculum. These are: English, Mathematics, Science, History and Social Sciences (HASS), The Arts, Technologies, Health & Physical Education and Languages. French is our Languages subject for students in Year 5 & 6.
Consistent and continuous monitoring, assessing and reporting methods are employed in and across year levels to ensure an individual student’s progress is mapped. This ensures that additional support/extension can be provided to those students with a specific learning need.
All learning areas/subjects for all students are formally reported on twice yearly against the Australian Curriculum year level achievement standards. Student reports are sent home in print form and via email in Week 2 Term 3 and Week 10 Term 4.
Face to face or phone parent-teacher interviews are held two times a year. Parents do not have to wait for these times to discuss their child’s progress and can make an appointment at any time to talk with the class teacher.
Importantly, to make our teaching and learning practices run smoothly, our school has embarked on a whole school Positive Behaviour for Learning approach.
