Heatley State School is a uniform school. Our Student Dress Code 2023-2025 which has the full support and endorsement of the Heatley SS P&C Association and our school community.

The student dress code complies with the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006, Part 10, Sections 360-363. It clearly outlines the items of clothing that form part of Heatley State School's uniform, what the dress standard expectations are and what the consequences are for inappropriate uniform or refusal to wear the uniform.

Uniforms can be purchased from the following local suppliers who have entered into formal licencing agreements with our school:

  • Lowes at Stockland, Ross River Road, Aitkenvale - free embroidery of initials HSS on shorts, skorts and skirts (items also available online)
  • Tropic T-shirts, 7 Castlemaine Street, Kirwan
  • Georgio Clothing, shop 8 Woolcock Centre, 238-262 Woolcock Street, Currajong
  • School bucket hats can be purchased from the tuckshop - either at the counter or by Flexischools order

Since 2018, Heatley State School has required that all new enrolments wear the approved school hat or a similar bucket hat. Peak caps are no longer permitted and all students will be required to wear bucket hats if they want to play outside.

Senior shirts are ordered by the school as a bulk order - parents will be given opportunities to place an order in late term 4 (when students are in year 5) and early in the year (when students are in year 6).
