Being at school every day counts. If your child is absent one day per week, this quickly adds up to two months of missed school in a year.
We are lucky enough to partner with the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys and their sponsors in the #Tryfor5 program. The #Tryfor5 program is an inter-school challenge designed to promote attendance at school for 5 days each week. Heatley State School were the winners of both the 2020 and 2021 challenges and proudly have a framed and signed team jersey as their prize for each of those years. The 2020 jersey proudly hangs in the library and the 2021 jersey hangs in the HOD: Student Services' office.

Each term, weekly prizes are provided for the class/es with the best attendance and major prizes are provided for end of term draws.
