Regular school attendance will mean that your child has a better chance in life.  Your child will achieve better when they go to school all day, every school day. At Heatley we Try for 5! 5 days every week of the school year!

Every day counts!

First bell goes at 8:40am and learning begins in all classes at 8:50am. Rolls are marked at this time.  Students arriving at school after 8:50am will need to enter the school through the office to be signed in and then to bring a late slip to class.

If there is a need to collect your child/ren from school during the day you must do so via the front office and sign your child out.

If your child is going to be absent from school, you must let the school know why the absence has occurred within two school days of their return. If possible, it is best to advise the school beforehand either via QParents or by phoning the school absence line (4759 5333 option 1).

Avoid keeping your child away from school for reasons such as:

  • birthdays or shopping

  • visiting family and friends or if they sleep in

  • looking after other children

  • minor check ups or care, such as hair cuts

Establishing good routines around school can assist with regular school attendance. These include:

  • have a set time to go to bed

  • have a set time to get out of bed

  • have uniform/school bag ready the night before

  • have a set time for starting and finishing breakfast
